2020 Ford Transit models recalled due to suspension fault

Ford says a suspension component in Transit and Transit Custom vans could break, with the recall affecting 344 vehicles.

Ford Australia has issued a recall of 344 examples of the 2020 Transit and Transit Custom van (MY20) due to the potential for a suspension arm joint to break.

The recall notice, lodged with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), says a fractured lower control arm joint may separate, resulting in the loss of vehicle control and increasing the risk of an accident.

Affected Transit and Transit Custom vans were sold between 9 October 2019 and 30 June 2020. Ford is contacting owners to organise a repair.

Ford Australia has been contacted and this story will be updated with its response.

A full list of vehicle identification numbers of the 64 Ford Transit vans involved in the recall can be found here, while the list of 280 Ford Transit Custom vans can be found here.
