2019 Ford Focus recalled over electrical issue

Ford Australia has issued a national recall for 2787 examples of its model-year 2019 Focus hatchback, citing an issue with the transmission stud which could damage the engine wiring loom.

The recall notice, which has been lodged with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), says the transmission stud in the Ford Focus could chafe on the engine engine wiring loom.

Ford says damage to the engine wiring loom could lead to a reduction in engine power and the engine stalling.

The affected vehicles were sold between 28 September 2018 and 22 May 2019.

Ford is contacting owners of the affected vehicles to arrange free inspection and repair.

To see if your car is affected, contact your closest Ford dealer or check to see if your vehicle's VIN is listed here.
