2021 Hyundai Sonata N-Line revealed ahead of big unveiling event

Hyundai has pulled the sheets from its sporty new Sonata N-Line

In a push to keep momentum going on its marketing train, the covers have come off the new 2021 Hyundai Sonata N-Line this week.

A full unveiling won't occur for another month yet, but these images provide a first clear and official look at the sportiest model in the new Sonata sedan range.

Due in Australia in late 2020 alongside the regular range, the Sonata N-Line adds a more aggressive look with sports styling and big 19-inch alloy wheels.

Australian details for the N-Line model are still to come, but US-market details reveal that while the top-shelf Sonata won't be a full-bottle N model, it will be no slouch.

Expect power to come from Hyundai's turbo petrol 2.5-litre 'Smartstream' four-cylinder engine, producing 216kW and 420Nm. The Australian-market tune may provide slightly different numbers.

Drive will be sent to the front wheels through an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic.

As with others in the N-Line range, the Sonata N-Line will benefit from a more performance-oriented chassis from factory and, we expect, an Australian-developed suspension tune.

Watch for more on the new Sonata N-Line to come in the weeks ahead.

NOTE: The red model shown in this story is indicative of Australia's Sonata N-Line, while the white model – including interior shots – is a US-market example.
