2021 Hyundai i30 N: First official photos, dual-clutch auto coming
The first official images of the updated 2021 Hyundai i30 N have been revealed, along with some details of the revised hot hatch.
As expected, Hyundai says the new i30 N hatch will gain an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission as an option, alongside the six-speed manual.
While the current 2.0-litre turbo petrol four-cylinder is expected to carry over, performance could get an upgrade over the current 202kW/353Nm. Overseas reports are suggesting a modest power bump up to 206kW and 392Nm, which would bring the Hyundai more into line with power outputs of the Ford Focus ST and the pre-facelift Mk7 Volkswagen Golf R.
Steering and suspension is expected to be revised for the new i30 N, but no word on those changes at this stage.
The i30 N also gets a facelift for 2021, with these computer-generated images showing the car's new V-shaped daytime running lights integrated into the LED headlights.
Revised front and rear bumpers, and new, larger dual exhaust tips are also on the menu.
Also new for Hyundai's performance hatch is a set of 19-inch lightweight forged alloy wheels, which the brand says will save 14 kilograms of unsprung weight.
Inside, the i30 N is expected to receive a fresher interior, which will likely include a larger infotainment screen.
An official release date has not been announced for the 2021 Hyundai i30 N.
