The site of a former Holden dealership has been returned to its former glory, with stripped signage revealing its past.

Preston Motors used the Keilor Road address as its Holden sales centre for decades before moving to a modern, purpose-built facility in Essendon Fields, north of Melbourne, in mid-2019.

The old site was sold earlier this year, prompting the removal of the modern-era Holden signage and revealing the old, nostalgic paint scheme.

Domain reports the property sold for $8.68 million, and is expected to be knocked-down to make way for a new apartment complex.

In early August 2020, Drive  reported on Holden dealerships taking down signage as new-car stock dwindled.

Holden's shutdown has been a protracted affair, with dealers eventually signing a $150 million compensation deal with General Motors back in July.
