Gordon Murray announces light-weight racing version of sold-out T.50

Gordon Murray Automotive has revealed a racing version of the company's T.50 supercar.


On the back of news that the road-going GMA T.50 sold-out within 48 hours of its unveiling, the British sports car company has announced a racing variant – codenamed the T.50s.

As the spiritual successor to the McLaren F1 – a car designed and led by Gordon Murray – the T.50 shook the industry when it was announced in August 2020, focusing on driver involvement and engineering details, rather than computer gadgetry and huge power figures offered up by competitors.

At nearly $5.7 million, the GMA T.50s is more than 30 per cent more expensive than the road version.

For the extra spend, buyers gain better performance and revised aerodynamics, with the a central 'delta wing', improved body-kit and underbody aerofoils, all contributing to 1500kg of downforce.

The track-only GMA T.50s improves on the T.50 in both power and weight, rising from 487kW to "more than" 515kW from the Cosworth 3.9-litre V12, according to the company. Weight drops from 986kg to 890kg.

Only 25 of the GMA T.50s racing cars will be made, with more than half already allocated. Production is set to begin in 2023.
