2021 Hyundai Tucson revealed in first official images, Australian timing confirmed

A trio of new official images has given buyers their first proper look at the coming 2021 Hyundai Tucson.

Released today ahead of its September 15 unveiling, these images clearly reveal the Tucson's front, side and rear styling.

No surprises, the new Tucson shares a lot in common with the new i30 Sedan (still known as the Elantra overseas), with bold LED signatures at both ends and a heavily angled design throughout.

The side or profile view reveals boxy wheel arches under widely flared guards, and a deep character line runs through the top of the doors.

A silver garnish feature runs over the glasshouse and down into the D-pillar, terminating above some very 'statementy' hooked LED tail lights.

The '80s hot pink neon vibes shown here are, of course, unlikely to be the final colour of those rear lights. Expect the usual red.

Our view of the inside is limited to a somewhat streamlined rendering, but the details are all there.

As revealed in an earlier sketch, we'll see a shelf-like dash flow down into a floating centre console that creates an open space behind – possibly with a storage cubby – while a set of shift-by-wire gear buttons can be seen in the centre console next to a pair of cupholders.

The new Tucson will make its global debut on September 15, and these are likely not the last set of teaser images we'll see before then.

When will the new 2021 Tucson come to Australia?

An Australian debut is set for the first half of 2021, with more precise timing to be revealed closer to launch.
