Hyundai’s Chinese people-mover spied uncamouflaged

The pictures originally published by Chinese website Auto163 (which have since been taken down) show the vehicle is named the Hyundai Custo, while the marks covering the prototype suggest it has worn the company's heavy vinyl camouflaged in the past.

It's thought the six-seater family van will initially be launched in China this October, but there's speculation as to whether Hyundai will roll-out the model into other markets in the future.

From the spy photos, the interior appears to have borrowed a number of parts from the upcoming Hyundai Sonata, suggesting it may share a platform with the mid-size sedan.

A report from Car News China states the Custo will get a 2.0-litre turbo four-cylinder, likely to be Hyundai's Theta II powertrain found in the Kia Stinger, Genesis G70, and the previous US-spec Hyundai Sonata.
