Around the tracks: A Cybertruck lookalike and a Victorian Ford dealer frozen in time

Here’s a handful of the photos, articles, videos or social media posts that most caught our eye last week. Some of them are brand new, others have been online for a while.

Everyone appreciates an underdog. That's why we're particularly taken by this 1989 Jeep Grand Wagoneer which, at first glance, looks like something from National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.

On closer inspection, however, this car boasts a whopping great 6.2-litre, 707hp (527kW) Hellcat Hemi V8 engine under its unassuming bonnet.

Nicknamed the "Hellwagon", the car is up for sale in the United States with just over 83,000km on the odometer.

It's believed to be "the first of its kind" according to the listing, boasting a rare combination of bright red exterior with light tan interior.

It's truly a supercharged family hauler and a good trip down memory lane before the new 2021 Grand Wagoneer is revealed.

Automotive nostalgia is the best kind of nostalgia and if you don't agree – we can't hang out anymore.

This week a Reddit post had us feeling all warm and fuzzy with its snap of a retro Ford dealer in the town of Sea Lake, Victoria.

According to one Reddit commenter, this particular dealership – known as the Bill Johnston Ford Dealership – was last operational in the 1980s, but the landlord was owed money and wouldn't let anyone access the site after it closed.

The teal-toned interior – complete with retro signage – is the icing on the cake.

What have YOU accomplished in lockdown? Whatever it is, prepare to feel lazy compared to these two friends who recreated an entire feature film with only themselves and some spare change.

Mates Kent Yoshimura and Kevin Fairy set themselves a challenge – to recreate The Fast and the Furious for $100 or less.

It feels like we've been waiting to see a production version of the Cybertruck forever, so it's perhaps unsurprising that one Tesla enthusiast in Bosnia and Herzegovina decided to make their own at home.

Precious little is known about this homemade copycat, other than it looks remarkably similar to the real thing, down to the marble-look dashboard.

It's unclear whether the car is electric or just an internal-combustion-engined car with body kit, but video footage proves it's capable of driving down the road so that counts for something.

We can only trace the photos and videos back to a fairly anonymous Instagram user called simply 'Jim'.

Jim, whoever you are, we salute you for your impeccable attention to detail and very impressive at-home production skills.

It's important to know how to laugh at yourself. On that note, we'll just leave this here...
