Hulme CanAm at 2010 AIMS

Debuting in Australia for the first time is the crazy Hulme CanAm. As previously previewed, the Hulme CanAm is a 447kW track-focused car that's almost ready for the road.

Hulme told CarAdvice a few weeks ago that right now the car will not pass ADR rules and so it cannot be registered... yet. Hulme said certain modifications may be made to the car, possibly allowing it to be driven legally on Australian roads, upon request.

Hidden behind the carbon fibre body work, the Hulme CanAm supercar features a 7.0-litre GM V8 outputting a simply ridiculous 447kW of power and 600Nm of torque. This is mated to a CIMA six-speed sequential gearbox. The entire car only weighs 980kg, meaning this thing has a power to weight ratio low enough to scare off pretty much any hypercar you'd like to mention.

Behind the 19 inch Centre Lock wheels at the front is a set of AP Racing brakes incorporating six-piston calipers squeezing 362mm disc rotors. At rear there's larger 20 inch wheels.

Hulme has announced the car will be made in limited numbers, with just 20 being planned. Deliveries are said to take place later in 2011 and at the beginning of 2012.
