Volvo Australia recalls 375 diesel models made from 2014 to 2017

The Swedish-based manufacturer has recalled S60, V60, XC60, V40 and V40CC vehicles with model years between 2014 and 2017 for a cooling fault.

Volvo Australia has issued a recall on 375 diesel models, citing a cooling system fault.

The affected cars are the S60, V60, XC60, V40 and V40CC fitted with four-cylinder diesel engines, with model years between 2014 and 2017.

The recall notice, lodged with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC), says “if the cooling system has to be refilled, air may become trapped in the cooling system which might result in insufficient cooling of the engine components.”

“Insufficient cooling may result in damages to engine components and may cause a fire in the engine bay,” the Swedish-based manufacturer added.

Affected cars were sold between 1 September, 2013 and 1 September, 2018.

CarAdvice has contacted Volvo Australia to find out if it has reported any incidents locally. We will update this story with their response.
