2021 Isuzu D-Max launches with more than 50 accessories, including bullbars
Keen to kit out your brand-new ute? Isuzu has you covered, including bullbars designed to work with its advanced safety systems.
The 2021 Isuzu D-Max will launch in Australia with a suite of more than 50 accessories ready for fitment, including steel and alloy bullbars that are compatible with Isuzu's new advanced safety systems.
The range also includes towbars, electric brakes, nudge bars, canopies, roof racks, steel and alloy trays, and hard and soft tonneau covers.
The 2021 Isuzu D-Max bullbars are available in either satin black steel, or a lighter polished alloy construction. Both options are fully hooped for extra protection, and replace the front bumper instead of being mounted over the top.
Because of this, the Isuzu bullbars look to improve the approach angle around the wheels. Genuine Isuzu bullbars are not winch compatible, but do have dedicated tabs for antennas.
The introduction of advanced safety features across the range – including 4x4 models – customarily adds complication for accessories, especially bullbars.
However, because Isuzu’s IDAS system uses two cameras mounted high in the windscreen, fitting accessories such as bullbars are less complicated than other systems with radar and lidar sensors mounted in the front bumper or grille.
While antennas will partially obstruct the view of the IDAS system, Isuzu says it won’t affect the performance of the safety technology.
When optioning a cab-chassis D-Max, genuine alloy and steel trays are available for both single and double cab models.
These trays can be further accessorised, with add-ons such as trundle drawers, steps, spare wheel hangers and tool boxes.
Styleside tubs, on the other hand, can be accessorised with a lockable fibreglass canopy of various styles, or hard and soft tonneau covers.
For those keen to tow, the 2021 D-Max will be available with a towbar and Redarc-sourced electric brake system.
And if you’re planning on towing something heavy, Isuzu also offers a factory weight distribution hitch as a genuine accessory.
And of course, the Australian aftermarket industry will also produce a wide array of accessories for the Isuzu D-Max, which has historically been a popular choice for off-roaders and caravaners.
CarAdvice contacted ARB, Ironman 4X4, Opposite Lock and TJM, but none were able to give us a definite date on their own range of D-Max accessories arriving.
