2021 Mercedes-Benz S-Class interior teasers go official

Mercedes-Benz's all-new flagship limousine will be officially launched in September, however the German manufacturer has been drip-feeding details to the public for months.

An early glimpse at the interior for the seventh-generation S-Class has been released by Mercedes-Benz, ahead of the vehicle's September launch.

The German manufacturer’s flagship limousine will include “up to” five screens, an automatically-adjusting seat and steering wheel, a new air-filtration system, yacht-inspired design features, and interactive LED interior lighting.

The dashboard is now dominated by a Tesla-esque portrait-oriented central screen, above which the air vents have now been positioned.

A 'warmth and comfort' package is also available. This manipulates the climate control and massage seats to create different interior modes via voice-command.

The images are intentionally obscured, however the next-generation vehicle appears to have a more minimalistic interior than its predecessor.

"Our S-Class customers are highly discerning. With the new S-Class, we invite them to a completely new luxury experience,” said Hartmut Sinkwitz, Mercedes-Benz's head of interior design.

“It is underpinned by our 'Sensual Purity' design philosophy and our absolute commitment to quality and attention to detail. The result is a revolutionary interior experience caught between digital and analogue luxury.”

Last year CarAdvice reported that the 2021 S-Class had been spied inside and out, albeit while heavily camouflaged.

The newly released images also validate an earlier spy picture posted to Instagram, which showed the car’s interior in greater detail.

Speaking at last year's Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas, Mercedes-Benz's chief designer, Gordon Wagener, said the new limousine will bring about the next generation of Mercedes-Benz's exterior and interior design.

Therefore we can expect that this car will set the tone for the next C-Class and E-Class.
