2020 Hyundai model prices updated, i30 diesel drops manual option

Fewer options for manual transmission lovers, price changes for Venue models, and added value for the Santa Fe.

  • Prices for the 2020 Hyundai i30, 2020 Hyundai Venue and 2020 Hyundai Santa Fe have changed this month as part of an update to the company's line-up.

The Hyundai i30 1.6-litre diesel Go and Active models will no longer be available with a manual transmission, as the South Korean car company implements changes across its line-up.

With the manual option dropped, the cost of entry into a diesel i30 hatch has also gone up.

An auto Hyundai i30 Go now starts at $25,490 plus on-road costs, or $26,600 plus on-road costs for the better-equipped Active, which adds 16-inch alloys, an 8-inch infotainment screen, and rear park assist.

Those increases represent a price bump of $2520 – or roughly the cost of optioning a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission over the manual variant.

Prices for the front-wheel-drive (FWD) Hyundai Venue SUV have also seen a move, with the mid-spec 1.6-litre Venue Active FWD rising by $420 to $22,120 plus on-road costs for the manual or $24,140 plus on-road costs for the automatic. That change also sees the model get 17-inch alloy wheels, up from 15-inch.

The automatic Venue Elite 1.6-litre FWD has also received a bump of $250 to $25,990 plus on-road costs, but buyers now get keyless start – a feature not previously available on the Venue.

As reported last month, the Active X has been added to the Hyundai Santa Fe range ahead of the SUV's update later this year.

Sitting just above the entry-level variant, the Active X borrows a swag of features and tech from the Elite model. Pricing for the 3.5-litre petrol FWD Active X starts at $47,020 plus on-road costs, while a 2.2-litre diesel all-wheel-drive Active X is $50,050 plus on-road costs.
