2020 price rises for Kia Seltos, Kia Sportage
Two of Kia's most popular models just became more expensive.
The prices of Kia's Seltos city SUV and Sportage mid-size SUV model ranges have risen by $300 across the board for the second half of 2020.
For the Seltos, Kia says the price increase is due to varying exchange rates and cost-of-doing-business pricing, while the Sportage's price hike is in line with the car's 2021 model-year.
However, neither model has received any specification updates in line with the pricing changes.

Pricing for the Seltos range now starts at $25,990 plus on-road costs for the front-wheel-drive S grade, with Kia offering a national deal of $26,990 driveaway, which is $1000 more than previous driveaway pricing.
The flagship all-wheel-drive GT-Line, meanwhile, now costs $300 more than before at $41,400 plus on-road costs, or $42,990 driveaway.
An optional Safety Pack for the S and Sport grades – which adds AEB with cyclist detection and adaptive cruise control – is an extra $1000, while Kia's premium paint choices add an additional $520 to the purchase price.

Meanwhile, the 2021 Sportage line-up has also risen by $300 across the board and now kicks off from $28,690 plus on-road costs for the S grade with manual transmission.
It tops out with the diesel-powered, all-wheel-drive GT-Line at $48,190 plus on-road costs. Kia is yet to share national driveaway pricing for the MY21 Sportage.

All four Seltos grades are petrol-powered and with automatic transmission, but buyers have the choice of front-wheel-drive or all-wheel-drive.
Front-wheel-drive Seltos S, Sport and Sport+ grades receive a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder engine that produces 110kW and 180Nm and is coupled to a continuously variable transmission.
Meanwhile, all-wheel-drive Sport+ and GT-Line grades feature a 1.6-litre, four-cylinder turbocharged engine producing 130kW and 265Nm and coupled to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.

Sportage buyers have the choice of three engines – a 114kW/192Nm 2.0-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine for Si, Si Premium and SLi grades, a 135kW/237Nm, 2.4-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine in the GT-Line only and a 2.0-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine producing 136kW and 400Nm across all grades.
All petrol Sportage models feature a six-speed automatic transmission driving the front wheels only in the Si, Si Premium and SLi models and linked to an AWD system in GT-Line. Diesel models are AWD but with an eight-speed automatic transmission.
Both the Sportage and Seltos ranked in Australia's top 20 top-selling cars for July 2020.
