2021 Hyundai Tucson interior previewed in new sketch

A teaser sketch for the new-generation 2021 Hyundai Tucson has surfaced on an enthusiast forum, and while the company has yet to issue any word on its authenticity, it bears all the hallmarks of an official preview.

As with the below photo published in March, the sketch reveals a minimalist interior design with a centre console that extends out of the dashtop and wraps down into the lower cubby space.

A large main display is flanked top and bottom by simple vents and air-conditioning controls, while a wide rectangular instrument display dominates the space behind the steering wheel.

While not shown in the sketch, a button-based, shift-by-wire gear selector has been shown in spy photos to occupy the space left of the main cup holders.

When will the new Tucson come to Australia?

Timing for the new model's unveiling is still to be confirmed, but a mid- to late 2020 date would line up with the lifecycle of the current model. In that case, an early 2021 debut in Australia would seem likely.
