Video: Mercedes-AMG GT R Black Series teased

YouTube legend and rich kid Shmee makes a cameo appearance in the teaser video for the new Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series.

Mercedes-AMG has teased the upcoming GT R Black Series with a video released on YouTube.

Featuring a cameo from YouTuber Shmee150, the short video gives us a glimpse of the limited edition flagship model from the German performance car brand.

The 2021 Mercedes-AMG GT R Black Series is expected to be a step-up from the GT R Pro, which itself uses a twin-turbo 4.0-litre V8 putting out 430kW/700Nm via a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.

Details for the new Black Series have yet to be announced, but rumours suggest the GT R Black Series could output around 530kW from an entirely different engine package.

The video was released following leaked photos of the GT R Black Series emerged online.

First seen in April 2019 but rumoured as early as 2015, the GT R Black Series appears to be heavily track-focused, with a Panamericana grille, carbon-fibre add-ons, two large air vents in the bonnet, and a large adjustable rear wing.

The Black Series nameplate has denoted the most special, limited edition AMG models since it first appeared on the SLK55 back in 2006.
