Around the tracks: A little girl’s Nürburgring hot lap and a Ferrari stretch limo for sale

Plus, the Polestar 2's animated tail-lights, Tesla owners summoned to solve a crime and a car-claiming flood in London.

When we’re not creating it ourselves, the CarAdvice team spends a lot of time finding and consuming motoring content from all over the world.

Here’s a handful of the photos, articles, videos or social media posts that most caught our eye last week. Some of them are brand new, others have been online for a while.

Enjoy them – just not too much, okay?

1. This little girl calmly enjoying a lap around the Nürburgring

While the 'Green Hell', as it's been nicknamed, has brought many a seasoned driver to their knees – it's no match for a little girl.

We love this YouTube video of Robert Mitchell – an employee at the track's Apex-Neuburg driving school – taking his young daughter for a drive around the Nordschleife in a Porsche Cayman.

When Robert spots a friend ahead in a Carrera GT and decides to speed up and chase him down, his daughter (who only looks about five years old) doesn't bat an eyelid.

Lewis Hamilton, take notes.

2. The Polestar 2's mesmerising tail-lights

Due in Australia sometime in late 2020, the Polestar 2 – an all-electric performance saloon from the Volvo sub-brand – will compete with the Tesla Model 3 when it lands.

And while Australian pricing and timing is still TBC, it seems journalists overseas are starting to get their hands on press cars.

Auto Express editor Steve Fowler provided us all with a little glimpse at the new electric car in action... well, its tail lights at least.

The animated dance the Polestar's rear lights do whenever it's locked or unlocked is simple but eye-catching and makes us excited to see more.

3. Norwegian police calling on Tesla owners to help solve a crime

Police in the Norwegian city of Sandefjord are calling on Tesla owners whose cars might have inadvertently recorded the perpetrator of an attempted murder.

Apparently, the home of the city's mayor, Bjørn Ole Gleditsch, was set on fire on Sunday last week.

But, due to a lack of CCTV footage available, local police have reportedly turned to Tesla drivers in the area whose cars feature Sentry mode – a security setting which captures footage of a parked car's surrounds to deter potential thieves.

It might sound a bit far-fetched, but because of Norway's electric vehicle subsidies, Teslas and other EVs are pretty common on the country's streets.

No word yet on whether their requests have proven successful.

4. This Ferrari 360 Modena luxury stretch limousine for sale

Ever wished you could buy a Ferrari but with a few more seats? Consider that wish granted by this used-car listing for a stretch limo version of the Ferrari 360 Modena.

For the small sum of $399,999, you could be the proud owner of this very rare beast.

With only 65,000km on the odometer, seating for 10 people (including the driver) and its own dedicated bar, the stretch 360 is officially a party on wheels.

5. This broken water main in London claiming several cars

When you head out on the road, you might consider the possibility you'll encounter dangerous driving, rough roads or bad traffic.

You probably don't consider the possibility your car could be swept away by a freak mini-flood.

Unfortunately, that was the reality facing several car owners in London whose vehicles were stuck in around half a metre of water when a water main burst and flooded a ring road in central London.

Caught up in the kerfuffle was a poor, unsuspecting Ferrari FF, whose plight attracted a fair bit of attention on social media.

Thankfully, the London Fire Brigade stepped in to rescue the eight drivers left stranded by the flood – part of an effort that reportedly took nearly two hours.
