Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo soft-roader due in Australia next year

A high-riding, wagon version of Porsche's Taycan electric car is expected in local showrooms in 2021.

Porsche’s Taycan Cross Turismo electric soft-roader is due in Australian showrooms in 2021, CarAdvice understands.

The high-riding wagon version of the Taycan is slated for a European reveal later this year, after it was confirmed for production last year

By utilising the 800 volt ‘J1’ electric car platform taken from the Taycan, the Cross Turismo variant is expected to have a 500km driving range and on-board 150kW DC fast charger capability.

The Taycan Cross Turismo is expected to be offered in the same 4S, Turbo and Turbo S trims as the Taycan, with power outputs ranging from 320kW to 460kW across the models.

Originally revealed as the Mission E Cross Turismo concept (pictured above and below in silver), spy shots of a Taycan Cross Turismo prototype captured earlier this year show the production model will likely get much tamer styling.

The Taycan Cross Turismo will be the second electric car offered by Porsche Australia when it arrives next year, to be joined by the Macan electric SUV the following year.
