Dodge reveals 2021 Durango SRT Hellcat, the world’s most powerful SUV
Dodge's new 6.2-litre Durango beats out the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk to claim the title.
The 2021 Dodge Durango SRT Hellcat has been revealed, with the model instantly laying claim to the title of the most powerful SUV in the world.
Producing 530kW from a supercharged 6.2-litre V8, the Durango SRT Hellcat takes the title from the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk – with the Dodge offering only two kilowatts more than the Jeep.
The Durango SRT Hellcat, with a towing capacity just shy of 4000 kilograms, can do the 0-60mph sprint in 3.5 seconds and a 400m drag race in 11.5 seconds.
The Durango SRT Hellcat was revealed as part of Dodge's new muscle car line-up.
Also revealed were the 2021 Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat with 594kW, and the 2021 Dodge Challenger SRT Super Stock offering 602kW.
Both models can complete the 400m (quarter-mile) drag in around 10 and a half seconds, and can go from 0-60mph (0-97km/h) in around three and a half seconds.
Dodge claims the Challenger SRT Super Stock is the quickest and most powerful muscle car ever offered.
All three Dodge models are powered by supercharged 6.2-litre Hemi V8 engines.
While there are no plans to offer these Dodge models in Australia, the Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk is available through dealers and uses the same supercharged 6.2-litre V8.
