Lamborghini SCV12 teased, track-only weapon to debut soon
The special-edition offers motorsport technology and performance for buyers.
Italian supercar maker Lamborghini has teased its new track-only SCV12 hypercar before a reveal expected in the coming weeks.
The SCV12 will feature Lamborghini’s most powerful naturally-aspirated V12 ever.
The engine produces 619kW at high speeds thanks to “aerodynamic supercharging” which sees a specially-designed, roof-mounted intake scoop create a ram-air effect, forcing air into the engine at an increased pressure.
That power will be sent to the rear wheels through a sequential six-speed transmission that is also used as a structural element of the chassis, with the rear suspension mounted to it.
Slick Pirelli race tyres are fitted to magnesium wheels measuring 19-inches in the front and 20-inches in the rear. The chassis is moulded using carbon-fibre.
Keeping the SCV12 stuck to the ground – with what Lamborghini claims is more downforce than a GT3 race car produces – is a large front wind-splitter, lateral flicks and vertical fins, and a carbon-fibre rear spoiler.
Buyers of the exclusive model will be invited to participate in advanced driving programmes at global circuits with technical assistance from Lamborghini.
