2021 Land Rover Defender 110 gets roof tent option

Italian car roof tent specialist Autohome has developed a two-person tent for Land Rover’s new Defender 110 off-roader.

The officially-endorsed tent will be sold by both Land Rover and Autohome.

Autohome prices the tent at €3760 ($AUD6120), which is enough for a fortnight in a five-star hotel.

Stowed, the tent measures 33cm tall, growing to 150cm when opened with the help of two gas struts. Its footprint is 130cm by 230cm, which Autohome says is adequate for two adults.

The tent mounts to the ‘Expedition Roof’ option which comes as standard in the Defender’s Adventure Pack.

The shell of the tent is made from fibreglass, which Autohome claims will help regulate the temperature for occupants depending on the environment.

A height-adjustable aluminium ladder with clamps, LED lighting, mattress and pillows with matching covers, and elastic roof storage net are all included with the tent.

The new Defender 110 is due in Australia in August.
