2020 Jeep Compass price and specs

Jeep has announced local pricing and specifications for its updated Compass SUV range, in Australian showrooms now.

The 2020 Compass range sees the addition of new Night Eagle and S-Limited trims, joining existing Limited and Trailhawk variants.

Pricing for the 2020 Jeep Compass begins at $36,950 plus on-road costs for the entry-level Night Eagle. Limited (shown top of story) moves up to $42,950 plus on-road costs, with the S-Limited asking $45,950 plus on-road costs.

The 2020 Jeep Compass range is closed out by the Trailhawk at $49,450 plus on-road costs.

Night Eagle, Limited and S-Limited make use of a 2.4-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that produces 129kW and 229Nm, while Trailhawk models get a 2.0-litre four-cylinder diesel engine outputting 125kW and 350Nm.

Night Eagle gets a six-speed automatic transmission that sends power to the front wheels.

Each trim above Night Eagle comes with a nine-speed automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels – however Trailhawk is the only variant to get Jeep’s active drive low 4x4 system.

The 2020 Compass gets upgraded standard tech including an 8.4-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, digital radio and satellite navigation, rear parking sensors, lane departure warning, blind spot monitoring and rear cross-path detection, and forward collision warning plus.

Entry-level Night Eagle comes with black chrome exterior styling, 18-inch black alloy wheels, roof rails and tinted privacy glass.

Moving up to Limited adds an additional three speakers (taking the total to nine), adaptive cruise control, heated leather seats (with eight-way power adjustment for the drivers) and an electric-powered rear hatch.

Further to these, Limited trim gets bi-xenon headlights with automatic high beam, LED tail lights, push button start and remote proximity keyless entry, a 7.0-inch colour digital cluster display, front parking sensors, park assist and a traction management system.

S-Limited adds further styling to the Limited, including 19-inch granite-coloured alloy wheels, granite crystal exterior accents, black headliner and black painted roof, tungsten accent stitching to the black leather seats and a dual-pane panoramic sunroof.

The range-topping diesel Trailhawk increases the Compass’s off-road capability by adding higher-riding suspension, hill descent control, four underbody skid plates, a full-sized spare wheel, red tow hooks and Jeep Selec-Terrain with rock mode.
