2020 BMW price rises: Every model listed

The German carmaker has raised the price on some of its most popular models.


BMW Australia has updated pricing across its range for June, with price rises of up to $5000 on some of its most popular models.

CarAdvice has been told there is no change to specification of the vehicles, and that the increases are due to "normal economic changes".

“BMW constantly reviews its pricing structure, factoring in the exchange rate, inflation and changes to material costs,” a BMW Australia spokesperson told CarAdvice.

Note: All prices listed exclude on-road costs.


2020 BMW 1 Series June pricing

Both variants of BMW’s 1 Series have seen a price rise in June. Pricing for the 118i has increased by $3000 from $42,990 to $45,990, while the sporty M135i xDrive has risen $4000 from $64,990 to $68,990.


2020 BMW 2 Series June pricing

All two- and four-door variants of the BMW 2 Series have increased in price except the hot M2 CS which remains priced at $139,900.

The 218i Gran Coupe has gone up $2000 from $47,990 to $49,990. The 220i in coupe form has gone up $1500 from $55,400 to $56,900, while the convertible version has seen a $2200 price rise from $62,700 to $64,900.

The Gran Coupe M235i xDrive has gone up $3000 from $69,990 to $72,990, while M240i models in coupe and convertible bodies have gone up $2300 and $2900 respectively.

The M240i coupe is now priced at $81,900 (up from $79,600) and the M240i convertible comes in at $91,900 (up from $89,000).


2020 BMW 3 Series June pricing

Pricing for the 3 Series range – both four-door sedan and five-door wagon body – has increased across the board.

The 320i, 330i, 330e and 330i Touring (wagon) have all gone up by $3000. The 320i now costs $68,900 (up from $65,900), with the 330i priced at $74,990 (up from $71,900), the 330e at $81,900 (up from $78,900) and the 330i Touring priced from $78,900 (up from $75,900).

The sportier M340i xDrive has gone up $4000, now asking $108,900 – up from $104,900.


2020 BMW 7 Series June pricing

Pricing for four-door 7 Series sedans has increased by $5000 for all variants in June.

The 730d and 740i are now priced from $204,900 (up from $199,900), with the 740Li bumped up to $234,900 (up from $229,900).

The hybrid 745e is now $209,900 (up from $204,900), with the 750i xDrive and M760Li xDrive now priced from $277,900 and $383,900 respectively (up from $272,900 and $378,900).


2020 BMW 8 Series June pricing

All BMW 8 Series variants have seen a price increase for June between $2000 and $5000.

The 840i has increased by $2000 in coupe form, from $202,900 to $204,900. Convertible and Gran Coupe 840i variants have gone up $5000, to $222,900 (from $217,900) for the convertible and $204,900 (from $199,900) for the Gran Coupe.

M850i coupe has gone up $2000 from $275,900 to $277,900, while M850i convertible and M850i xDrive Gran Coupe have increased $5000 on May pricing, now priced at $289,900 (up from $284,900) and $277,900 (up from $272,900) respectively.

Coupe and Gran Coupe bodied M8 Competition models go up $5000. The coupe variant is now $357,900 (up from $352,900), with the Gran Coupe asking $354,900 (up from $349,900).


2020 BMW Z4 June pricing

BMW’s Z4 roadster sees a $3000 increase across its three variants in June.

The 20i M Sport is now priced at $87,900 (up from $84,900), with the 30i M Sport at $107,900 (up from $104,900) and the M40i asking $127,900 (up from $124,900).


2020 BMW X1 June pricing

BMW’s X1 small SUV sees a price increase across the range. The sDrive 20i sees a $1400 increase, taking its asking price from $48,500 to $49,900.

The sDrive 18d and xDrive 25i get a $2000 price increase, taking them to $46,900 (from $44,500) and $64,900 (from $62,900) respectively.

The entry-level sDrive 18i gets the largest price increase, now listed at $46,900 – up $2400 from May’s $44,500 price.


2020 BMW X2 June pricing

The BMW X2 small SUV dodges a large price increase in June. Each variant goes up $500, with the sDrive 18i increasing to $47,900 (from $47,400), the sDrive 20i rising to $56,900 (from $56,400) and the M35i hitting $69,900 (up from $69,400).


BMW X3 June pricing

Every BMW X3 medium SUV model gets a price hike in June except for the flagship M Competition variant which remains priced at $157,900.

X4 sDrive, xDrive 20d, xDrive 30i and xDrive 30d variants all go up by $3000. This takes the sDrive to $68,900 (up from $65,900), the xDrive 20d to $71,900 (up from $68,900), the xDrive 30i increases to $81,900 (up from $78,900) and the xDrive 30d rises to $88,900 (up from $85,900).

The sporty M40i grows by $4000, taking its asking price from $105,900 to $109,900.


2020 BMW X4 June pricing

All three variants of the X4 medium SUV see a price increase in June except for the flagship M Competition, which stays priced from $164,900.

The xDrive 20i and xDrive 30i begin from $80,900 and $89,900 respectively in June. This is up $3000 from May pricing of $77,900 and $86,900.

M40i models increase by $4000 in June, now asking $117,900 – up from $113,900.


2020 BMW X5 June pricing

The BMW X5 large SUV sees price increases across its range between $2000 and $4000 – but, like the X3 and X4, its flagship M Competition avoids a price hike. BMW X5 M Competition remains priced at $209,900.

The xDrive 30d and xDrive 40i see a $2000 price increase, taking the xDrive 30d to $119,900 (up from $117,900) and the xDrive 40i to $122,900 (up from $120,900).

The xDrive 25d climbs $3000 in price, now asking $102,900 from $99,900 May pricing.

The xDrive 45e and M50i both get a $4000 price rise. The xDriver 45e is now priced at $133,900 (up from $129,900), with the M50i priced from $155,900 (up from $151,900).


2020 BMW X6 June pricing

The BMW X6 large SUV sees a $2000 price increase for its xDrive 30d and xDrive 40i variants, taking their June pricing to $123,900 (up from $121,900) and $126,900 (up from $124,900) respectively.

The sportier M50i cops a $4000 increase, now priced at $159,900 – up from $155,900 in May.


2020 BMW X7 June pricing

BMW’s flagship X7 large SUV sees a price increase in both of its variants in June.

The xDrive 30d grows $5000, now asking $133,900 (up from $128,900). M50i trim now asks $179,900 – up $4000 on its $175,900 May price.

The price hikes mark the second in two consecutive months, with the xDrive 30d now $9000 dearer than its April price of $124,900, and the M50i $8000 dearer than its $171,900 price in April.
