2021 Mercedes-AMG GLB 45 unearthed in patent filing

The 2021 Mercedes-AMG GLB 45 has been laid bare after Mercedes filed detailed line drawings with the United States Patent and Trademark Office, according to Automobile Magazine.

The German luxury carmaker is yet to confirm the range-topping GLB, but details provided in the patent filing show numerous differences between it and the current AMG GLB 35.

The most notable differences that indicate that this is the first glimpse of the GLB 45 are the quad exhaust tips and larger air ducts in the front bumper, hinting at larger brakes or intercoolers.

Subtle though they may be, these are telltale signs that the GLB will be offered in a higher AMG specification. The GLB 45 has been spied testing in camouflage at various times over the past year.

In November Mercedes-Benz Australia ruled-out an AMG GLB 45 variant of the seven-seat SUV.
