2020 Skoda Superb Scout price and specs

Limited-edition Skoda soft roader goes on sale in Australia this week, aimed at environmentally-conscious buyers who need plenty of space

The 2020 Skoda Superb Scout wagon is now on sale in Australia, with only 300 cars being allocated to this market.

At $59,490 before on-road costs, the limited-edition Scout sits at the top of the Superb range, offering some unique features above and beyond the Superb Sportline wagon that's roughly $5000 cheaper.

The most obvious difference is the raised suspension, with the Superb Scout offering 15mm greater ground clearance than the standard Superb wagon. To complete the theme, the Scout has a beefier front bumper and blacked-out wheel arches.

The Scout can also be optioned with a unique Tangerine metallic paint.

The Superb Scout is powered by a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbo petrol engine producing 200kW and 350Nm, mated to a seven-speed DSG automatic transmission sending power to all four wheels.

For the first time ever on an Australian Skoda, the Superb Scout will have a Petrol Particulate Filter (PPF) to help reduce harmful emissions.

Owners will be required to run a minimum 95 octane premium unleaded fuel, however, as the poor quality of standard unleaded petrol in Australia could cause damage to the PPF.

The list of standard features for the Scout is long, and includes Skoda's new full LED Matrix headlights – maintaining the brand's reputation for excellent lighting.

You can also expect a 9.2-inch infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto capability, wireless charging, rear camera, automatic tailgate, alcantara/leather interior, heated front and rear seats and steering wheel, three-zone climate control, auto park, tyre pressure monitoring, hill start assist and descent control, lane assist, adaptive cruise control, emergency braking, and traffic jam assist.

The options list is much smaller by contrast, with buyers only having to pay for their choice of paint, costing between $770 and $1700, and a panoramic sunroof for $1900.

As with the regular Superb, the Scout lists a 660-litre boot with the rear seats upright, expanding to 1950 litres with the seats folded.

All Skodas come with a five year warranty as standard.

The 2020 Skoda Superb Scout is on sale from Monday 8 June 2020.
