2021 Toyota Hilux and Fortuner: new spy photos

The new Toyota Hilux is less than 24 hours away from being unveiled but more images have emerged, including of a new top-end model and the Fortuner.

UPDATE: The new HiLux has now been officially revealed. Details here.

The updated Toyota HiLux has been caught on camera less than 24 hours before it is due to be officially unveiled.

The latest photos appear to have been taken in the Middle East, where the crucial external changes were masked, and appeared overnight on Carscoops.

The photos confirm that the updated Toyota Hilux will get a new nose and tail-lights, and show off new sets of wheels.

A separate set of photos that appeared on Thai website Headlightmag.com – which appear to have been taken during a presentation (apologies for the image quality) – show what could possibly be a new top-end version of the Toyota HiLux (pictured below).

In the meantime, Toyota Europe has confirmed that the 2.8-litre turbo diesel will get a power bump – though figures are yet to be confirmed – and revised suspension geometry for better road holding.

The official unveiling of the update to Australia’s top-selling car is expected some time today in Thailand.

Meanwhile, the updated Toyota Fortuner has been caught on camera, also by Thai website, Headlightmag.com (pictured below).

It appears to show a sharper front and and a revised rear bumper.

It is unclear if the HiLux-based model will get the same engine and suspension upgrades.

We will bring you more photos and information on both models as it comes to hand.

UPDATE: The new HiLux has now been officially revealed. Details here.
