The 2020 ‘Series II’ Ignis comes in two trim levels, with pricing opening at $17,990 plus on-road costs for the five-seater GL and $19,990 plus on-road costs for the four-seater GLX.
This represents a $2000 price increase for the GL and $1000 for the GLX compared to the outgoing model.
For the increased price, the facelifted Suzuki Ignis gets a revised front bumper and grille, but retains the same powertrain and standard features.
Both Suzuki Ignis variants keep their 1.2-litre four-cylinder engine, which sends 66kW and 120Nm to the front wheels.
GLX trim comes with a continuously-variable automatic transmission (CVT) as standard, while the GL gets a five-speed manual transmission. GL models can be optioned with the CVT for an additional $1000.
GL trim rides on 15-inch steel wheels, while moving up to the GLX gets you 16-inch alloy wheels. Metallic paint is a $595 option for both trims.
Both models receive roof rails and electric side mirrors as standard. The GLX also gets LED headlights and keyless entry as standard.
Moving inside, both models get a 7.0-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, bluetooth and USB connectivity. GLX has two tweeters added to its four-speaker sound system.
A reversing camera is fitted to both models, while digital climate control features as standard on the GLX compared to the GL’s manual unit.
Due to the different seating layouts, the five-seater GL has a 60:40 split folding whereas the four-seater GLX can be folded 50:50.
