2021 Lexus LC Coupe price and specs

The new and improved V8-powered coupe and its hybrid sibling start from just under $200,000 plus on-road costs.

The updated 2021 Lexus LC Coupe range has officially landed in Australian dealerships, with pricing starting from just under $200,000 for both the V8-powered LC500 and hybrid-powered LC500h.

The flagship Lexus Coupe range will commence at $194,747 plus on-road costs for the LC500, which continues with its familiar 5.0-litre V8 petrol engine and 10-speed automatic transmission.

Jumping up to the LC500h sees pricing start at $195,165 plus on-road costs for the 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine and 650-volt Lexus hybrid system, plus the same Shiftmatic transmission as its predecessor.

The 2021 pricing ushers in a price increase of roughly $4955 on the last LC500 and $4815 on the LC500h.

Lexus claims the updated two-door model introduces 10 engineering changes – including renewed transmission tuning, improved rigidity, lighter rear 21-inch alloy wheels and new electronic cornering assistance – as well as fresh colour and trim options.

The 2021 model also sees the introduction of a heated steering wheel and easy-access sliding front seats on top of the existing models' standard offerings.

Additionally, buyers can opt for an Enhancement Pack that adds $15,000 to the purchase price and provides sportier performance thanks to the addition of dynamic rear steering, variable gear ratio steering and a light-weight carbon-fibre roof and scuff plates, plus sporty interior trim touches.

Outputs for the 2021 offerings are unchanged from the previous generation, with the LC500 boasting 351kW of power and 540Nm of torque, while the LC500h offers a maximum combined power figure of 264kW, plus a maximum of 350Nm of torque from the petrol engine and 300Nm from the electric motor.

Combined fuel consumption for the LC500 is rated at 11.6L/100km, while the LC500h's hybrid system lowers this figure to just 6.7L/100km.

As standard, both the hybrid and petrol variants receive a glass roof with interior sunblind, triple-stack LED headlights, a 10.3-inch multimedia screen with touch pad, an 8.0-inch digital instrument cluster and a colour head-up display.

Standard safety offerings include a pre-collision safety system with pre-collision braking, lane-keep assist with steering assist, blind-spot monitor, rear cross traffic alert, all-speed radar active cruise control and a pop-up pedestrian-sensing saftey bonnet, which pop ups prior to impact to provide cushioning, absorb shock and help reduce the risk of pedestrian injury.

Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, DAB digital radio, dual-zone climate control, navigation with speed limit display and a 13-speaker Mark Levinson sound system also come standard.

Buyers will now be offered two new exterior paint colour options on the LC Coupe, with Carnelian (a light red) and Khaki Metal (a deep green) joining the existing lineup of eight other paint options.

Similarly, the 2021 model-year also sees the arrival of two new interior trim offerings – Flare Red and Manhattan Henge – on top of the existing Black and Ochre trim options offered.

Later in 2020, the LC Coupe will be joined by the LC Convertible, which will receive only one powertrain: the same 5.0-litre V8 engine as its Coupe cousin.

Given Lexus claims the LC Convertible will have "broad alignment" with the updated LC Coupe range, CarAdvice understands the drop-top will receive the same updates and standard specifications detailed in this story, but will likely land with a slightly higher price point.
