2020 Hyundai Kona price and specs: small SUV gets a price bump
Popular small SUV range gets a price rise, the two pure electric models make the biggest jump.
Hyundai's small SUV, the Kona, has had a price rise, with all variants except the entry-level Go seeing a bump of around $260-$650 each.
"There was a 1 per cent increase across the range – excluding Kona Go," a Hyundai spokesperson confirmed to CarAdvice. There were no specification changes in line with the price hike.
While the two-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive Go variants remain priced at $24,300 and $27,800 plus on-road costs respectively, other variants in the range rose in price by at least $260 and up to $650 each.

The models that received the biggest increase in price were the all-electric offerings – the EV Elite and EV Highlander – which saw bumps of $600 and $650 respectively.
The two-wheel-drive EV Highlander remains the most expensive Kona you can buy, starting at $64,640 plus on-road costs.
According to April 2020 new car sales data, the Hyundai Kona was Australia's third most popular small SUV under $40,000.

Since early 2019, Kona buyers have not only had the option of two-wheel or all-wheel drive powertrains, but the choice of petrol or electric power as well. All models receive automatic transmissions.
Petrol-powered two-wheel-drive Kona variants feature a 2.0-litre four-cylinder engine that drives that front wheels only via a six-speed automatic transmission, while all-wheel-drive iterations are powered by a 1.6-litre four-cylinder engine paired to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
Electric models, meanwhile, are front-wheel drive and powered by an electric motor producing 150kW of power and 395Nm of torque.
They boast a claimed real-world driving range of up to 449km (WLTP cycle) thanks to a 64kWh battery.

As part of a 2020 model-year update introduced in August 2019, all variants from the Go upwards receive elements of Hyundai's SmartSense safety system as standard – including, at minimum on the Go, autonomous emergency braking, a forward-collision alert (with pedestrian detection on the top two grades), driver-attention warning and camera-based lane-keeping-with-steering assist system active above 60km/h.
Elite and Highlander grades add active cruise control, blind-spot monitoring and rear cross traffic alert. Another key difference is that Go and Active variants receive a 7.0-inch touchscreen, while Elite and Highlander variants feature an 8.0-inch touchscreen,
