Audi Q5 Sportback spotted for the first time
The coupe-like SUV has been spied months ahead of its official unveiling.
Audi’s all-new Q5 Sportback has been spotted for the first time ahead of a scheduled unveiling later this year.
The Audi Q5 Sportback – a Q5 SUV but with a sloping, coupe-like rear roofline – will be the only completely new addition to the brand’s line-up in 2020.
The Q5 Sportback is expected to adopt its underpinnings and interior from the updated Q5 due to be revealed later this year, however technical specifications for the models remain scarce.
First confirmed by Audi chairman Bram Schot earlier in the year, the Q5 Sportback is likely to receive some form of hybrid and/or electrified powertrain.
"In 2020, we will further expand our portfolio and plan to offer four completely new plug-in hybrid models," Mr Schot said at the time.
"This will enable our customers to opt for a hybrid model in more than half of our model series for the first time.
"The range of all-electric and plug-in hybrid models will grow significantly this year: We will then have five all-electric and twelve hybrid models."
The Audi Q5 Sportback will become the fourth Audi SUV styled with the coupe-like roofline, joining the electric e-tron Sportback, Q3 Sportback and the Q8.
