China’s next-generation LDV T60 teased in leaked images
Concept car rendering is believed to be a clue to the design theme for the next generation LDV T60 ute.
Chinese car giant SAIC has released an image of a concept vehicle that is believed to be the next-generation LDV T60 ute.
Overseas reports claim the teaser image has been released ahead of an expected unveiling later this year.
The concept sketch shows a double cab chassis with much sleeker styling than the current LDV T60, and a roof-mounted storage pod.
When contacted by CarAdvice, LDV Australia would not comment on whether the concept was a new standalone model or the next-generation T60.
Representatives also would not disclose whether the rendering would lead to a vehicle that might eventually be sold in Australia.

According to Chinese publication Sohu, the possible LDV T60 replacement is likely to have the option of some form of electrification with a plug-in hybrid or full electric powertrain.
An electric powertrain in the new LDV T60 would align with SAIC’s initiative to launch 20 electrified models by the end of 2025.
It is also possible the next generation LDV T60 could adopt the new 160kW/480Nm 2.0-litre twin-turbocharged diesel engine introduced last month in the LDV D90 SUV flagship.
This engine would put the next LDV T60 on the heels of the Ford Ranger’s higher-performing 157kW/500Nm 2.0-litre twin-turbocharged diesel four-cylinder engine and outgun the Toyota HiLux’s current 130kW/450Nm 2.8-litre turbocharged diesel four.
