Hyundai Australia extends warranties again due to COVID-19

Hyundai Australia has again increased its warranty extension period to account for the decrease in car use during COVID-19 lockdown periods.

The new extension means Hyundai cars with warranties that were due to expire anywhere between 1 March 2020 and 29 June 2020, will have their warranty extended to 30 June 2020.

It means the warranty on some cars will be extended by up to three months, or as little as one day.

Originally, Hyundai only offered the initiative for warranties that expired between 1 March 2020 and 30 May 2020, giving owners an extension to 31 May.

The initial warranty extension period saw approximately 27,000 Australian cars eligible for the benefit, however the new 30 June extension brings the tally to about 30,000 cars locally.

The initiative extends to all Hyundai models except the commercial iLoad van.

Hyundai places the number of cars eligible for the scheme globally at more than 1.21 million.
