Pricing begins from $72,479 before on-road costs for the 414CDI, and $87,926 before on-road costs for the more powerful 416CDI.
Both trims make use of a 2.1-litre twin-turbocharged four-cylinder diesel. In 414CDI trim, it has an output of 105kW/330Nm, the 416CDI has an output of 120kW/360Nm.
The Sprinter Transfer Minibus is built on a medium wheelbase platform with power sent through a seven-speed torque-converter automatic transmission to the rear wheels.
The 416CDI (shown at top of story) gets a chrome grille, alloy wheels, fog lights, LEDs used in the tail lights, automatic headlights and wipers, an overhead control panel and an electric sliding rear door as standard equipment.
The 2020 Sprinter Transfer Minibus scores Mercedes-Benz’s MBUX infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility in a 7.0-inch screen as standard.
A larger 10.25-inch screen can also be optioned with steering wheel controls or voice command. Satellite navigation comes as standard on the larger screen, but is an optional extra for the standard screen.
The 2020 Sprinter Transfer Minibus also gets comfort-focused standard equipment, including keyless engine start, roof-mounted air conditioning ducting with a separately regulated passenger cabin, updates to passenger seating that allows reclining function and foldable armrests, and USB charging sockets for passengers.
Standard safety equipment includes active brake assist, blind spot and lane-keep assist, crosswind assist, attention assist and a reversing camera.
Additional safety features can be optioned, including active lane keep assist, radar adaptive cruise control and a 360-degree camera.
Both 2020 Sprinter Transfer Minibus variants come with a five-year/250,000km warranty with 24-hour roadside assist and the option of pre-paid capped-price servicing.
