Jerry Seinfeld axes Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee web series
A report out of the US claims the comedian and car enthusiast is calling time on the series after 84 episodes and 11 seasons.
Comedian and car enthusiast Jerry Seinfeld appears to have pulled the pin on his long-standing TV series ‘Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee’.
In an interview with Variety magazine, Jerry Seinfeld said: “We haven’t planned anything with that show. I kind of feel like I did that tour.”
Seinfeld said while the series looked easy to produce it was in fact more time-consuming than most people expected.
“I know they look very casual and easy, but they’re actually kind of a lot of work,” he said. “The editing is very intense. And I feel like I may have done that exploration, at this point.”
Jerry Seinfeld hosted 84 episodes of Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee, over 11 seasons since 2012.
High profile guests included Eddie Murphy (pictured at the top of this story), Alec Baldwin (pictured above), Ricky Gervais, Dave Chappelle, Jim Carrey, Tina Fey, Amy Schumer, Trevor Noah, Stephen Colbert, Will Ferrell, Garry Shandling, and Steve Martin.
His first guest was Larry David, fellow comedian and co-creator of the Seinfeld TV series, where they took to the streets in an immaculate 1952 Volkswagen Beetle (pictured below) before the pair argued over food and coffee.
Seinfeld also interviewed fellow comedians and car nuts David Letterman (1995 Volvo wagon), Jay Leno (1949 Porsche 356), and Kevin Hart (1959 Porsche RSK Spyder).
The most high profile guest of all, however, was then US president Barrack Obama (1963 Chevrolet Corvette Sting Ray) towards the end of his final term in office.
