2021 Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo spied testing
High-riding electric wagon to debut later this year.
The upcoming Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo has been spied in cold weather testing this week, ahead of a debut expected to occur later this year.
Entering as a jacked-up and wagonised version of the electric Taycan four-door coupe, the new Porsche was first previewed by the Mission E Cross Turismo in early 2018.
The prototype spied here looks to be rolling in its final production skin, although a vinyl print obscures the details of its D-pillar design – but there is no reason to think the shape won't match that of the concept.
Likewise, blown-up and stretched 991 tail-light graphics surround the tail lamps in a lightweight attempt to confuse onlookers.
The Taycan Cross Turismo will clearly mirror much of its concept progenitor's styling, although some elements – such as the pronounced cladding and bonnet nostrils – appear to have been dropped from the market-ready design.
Details on the new variant are still to be released, but we can likely expect its specification to follow its sibling's line, with 4S, Turbo and Turbo S models.
When will the Porsche Taycan be on sale in Australia?
Porsche has confirmed with CarAdvice today that the Taycan's Australian launch is still on track for the fourth quarter of 2020, with pricing and details to be confirmed around mid-year.
With the Cross Turismo set for a late 2020 unveiling, we can likely expect its Australian launch to occur in the first part of 2021.
