Tesla Cybertruck: Australia the biggest market outside North America

Australia is the biggest market outside North America for the Tesla Cybertruck, according to crowd-sourced data provided to fan website CybertruckTalk.

To gauge global interest in the Tesla Cybertruck, more than 1800 members of the Tesla online community took part in a poll to compare demand for the controversially-styled electric pick-up from country to country.

It ranked the USA at the top of the list for pre-orders, accounting for 76 per cent of demand, ahead of Canada at 10 per cent.

Australia was third on the list the list – and the first outside North America – accounting for 3 per cent of demand based on the crowd-sourced figures.

The website CybertruckTalk reported: “Although Tesla has not published figures regarding the distribution of Cybertruck orders by country, this is a look at where the Cybertruck is most popular. It’s not surprising to see that the United States is the most popular country, but others may surprise you”.

Late last year Tesla boss Elon Musk said on Twitter the company had received more than 250,000 pre-orders for the Cybertruck.

Since then Tesla and Elon Musk have not given regular sales updates, but a report by CybertruckTalk earlier this year claimed the tally for pre-orders has since eclipsed 535,000.

We’ve published the full list from CybertruckTalk below. Let us know in the comments section if you think the global ratio of pre-orders is fair indication of true demand.
