Mini announced a few weeks ago that it will be entering the World Rally Championship some time before 2012 with a car based on the Mini Countryman. Not until now though have we seen actual evidence of such a car in the flesh.
Backed by Prodrive, the car's details and specifications have been kept under fairly tight wraps but there's hardly any question of a doubt that the vehicle in the video is indeed a very quick, Mini, rally car.
The video was added to the Tube just two days ago and it captures rally ace Markko Märtin with co-driver Ott Tänak tackling the very rough Portuguese rally stages. It's good that the car is still under development though as it seems to be bouncing around quite a lot, especially for a rally car.
Check it out.
