2018-2020 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter recalled over suspension danger
The big Sprinter's rear leaf springs could give way, the company reports, risking injury.
A number of Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vehicles have been recalled to address the risk that drivers of the big commercial vehicle could suffer diminished control while driving.
Affecting 127 vehicles from the 2018 to 2020 model years, the Sprinter recall centres on the rear axle steel leaf springs, which Mercedes-Benz Vans says could fall short of the required level of strength.
There is a risk the leaf springs may break during use, the company reports, increasing the risk of accident and injury.
A list of affected vehicles, ordered by VIN, can be found here. Owners should contact their nearest Mercedes-Benz dealer to arrange inspection and a free replacement of the rear axle springs where necessary.
