Holden Special Vehicles is offering discounts of up to $9000 on runout versions of the Colorado SportsCat ute, according to a confidential dealer bulletin obtained by CarAdvice.
Current 2020 model-year and late 2019 build HSV Colorado SportsCat models are available with savings of up to $5000, while early build 2019 and all 2018 models have bonuses of up to $7000 off the RRP.
A saving of up to $9000 is possible on certain early build 2019 or 2018 models that have been registered as a demonstrator, which adds $2000 to the $7000 bonus on those variants.
As with the Holden discounts, it is up to the dealer's discretion how much of the savings are passed on to the customer, and the deals are subject to change.
However, at these fully discounted prices certain variants of the HSV Colorado SportsCat would undercut rivals such as the Nissan Navara N-Trek Warrior ($65,490 drive-away), the Toyota HiLux Rugged X ($62,990 drive-away) and Toyota HiLux Rogue ($63,990 drive-away).
Holden dealers claim stock is limited; there are only about 250 HSV Colorado SportsCats in showrooms nationally while another 150 examples are due to be built and shipped to dealers in the coming weeks.
While the savings are not as generous as the Holden offer of up to $17,500 off certain models, remaining stock of standard Colorado variants are not expected to last long given the Holden clear-out has happened faster than dealers – and General Motors – had predicted.
A sweep by CarAdvice of numerous Holden dealerships across NSW, Queensland and Victoria has found some dealers are down to a handful of Colorado utes and were passing most of the savings to customers, while a number of standalone dealers were not slashing prices by as much as they are trying to stay open for as long as possible.
However, it appears most Holden dealers will be clear of remaining stock by the end of June rather than at the end of the year as originally forecast.
