2018 Citroen Dispatch recalled

Fuel pipes on the commercial vehicle might be susceptible to damage and leakage.

Inchcape European Automotive – Australian importer of Citroen – has filed a recall for its Dispatch commercial van susceptible to a diesel fuel system failure.

UPDATE 4/3/20: PCA (Peugeot Citroen Australia) has confirmed no Peugeot Expert vans are affected in this recall.

The lodgement made to the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) states that Citroen 2018 Dispatch vans sold between 1st June 2018 and 1 January 2019 are vulnerable to a fuel system failure.

The defective parts in question are undercarriage fuel lines that may become damaged from excessive movement and vibration.

Once damaged, the fuel lines may leak diesel and “increase the risk of an accident and/or injury to vehicle occupants and other road users.”

Inchcape European Automotive states 20 vehicles are affected.

According to the recall, owners of affected vehicles will be responsible for contacting Citroen dealerships to have necessary repairs carried out.

A list of vehicle identification numbers of cars affected can be found here.
