2020 Ford Mustang 2.3L High Performance pricing and specs

introduced without much fanfare as a replacement for the model previously known simply as the Mustang EcoBoost.

Ford’s tuned-up version of its 2.3-litre EcoBoost Mustang receives performance upgrades and its own distinct look.

The 2020 Mustang High Performance is offered in fastback convertible form, with fastback versions receiving six-speed manual transmission or paddle-shift 10-speed automatic options. The convertible variant is available only with the 10-speed.

The Mustang High Performance outputs 236kW and 448Nm – up from a standard EcoBoost’s 224kW and 441Nm figures. This is thanks to redevelopment of the 2.3-litre four-cylinder engine and fitment of the larger 63mm turbocharger found on the Focus RS.

While the torque increase seems modest, Ford claims the torque curve has been made wider and flatter, which translates to increased performance for drivers.

Cosmetically, the model receives styling revisions to set it apart from the standard EcoBoost.

“It’s got its own distinct look,” Ford Australia told CarAdvice. “The idea was to give it a clearer identity to the Mustang GT.”

A unique grille and badging adorn the front-end, while the Mustang High Performance rides on the same 19-inch alloy wheels as the GT Black Shadow Pack but in a machine-finish.

The alloys on the High Performance are wrapped in Pirelli tyres, versus the GT which rolls on Michelin rubber.

Mustang High Performance is available in the same heritage Grabber Lime and Twisted Orange body colours as offered on the GT. Rapid Red and Iconic Silver are also available.
