Subaru has revealed pricing and specification for its 2020 Impreza, set for local delivery in early 2020.

Subaru will offer the 2020 Impreza in four trims: 2.0i, 2.0i-L, 2.0i Premium and 2.0i-S. All variants are available in sedan and hatch bodies.

Pricing will start at $23,740 for a 2.0i sedan, with the top-spec 2.0i-S coming in at $31,360 for a hatch body type (both prices exclude on-road costs).

The engine will remain unchanged from the current model, with all variants powered by a 2.0-litre flat four-cylinder boxer petrol engine producing 115kW and 196Nm.

Subaru claims fuel consumption of 5.6 litres/100km for combined driving in all variants except the 2.0i-S AWD which should see 6.1L/100km

All variants are equipped with a CVT automatic transmission with seven distinct, programmed gear ratios in manual mode. Power is sent through Subaru’s symmetrical all-wheel drive system with active torque split.

The 2020 Impreza features ‘SI-Drive’ across all trims for the first time, allowing the driver to choose between Sport and Intelligent modes focused on performance or economy.

Subaru claims the 2020 Impreza’s suspension has also been revised to provide better comfort, response and agility.

Externally, the 2020 Impreza wears visual updates to the grille, front bumper and fog light design. Hatches receive a smoked-finish tail light design and the 2.0i-S gets upgraded LED headlights.

All variants gain a new alloy wheel design – the top-spec 2.0i-S to ride on 18-inch wheels and 225mm wide tyres, with other variants wearing 17-inch wheels and 205mm wide tyres.

Customers will also have a new ‘Magnetite Grey Metallic’ paint colour to choose from.

All variants above the base 2.0i will receive updated door trim material and a premium cloth will also be introduced on the 2.0i-L and 2.0i Premium.

The 2.0i will receive a 6.5-inch touchscreen while all higher specs’ receive an 8.0-inch touchscreen. All variants except the 2.0i come equipped with a multi-function display that shows various telemetries of the vehicle including tyre pressure monitoring, fuel economy and a digital speedometer.

All trims above the base model 2.0i will receive Subaru’s EyeSight driver assist system, including blind-spot monitoring, lane-change assist, rear cross-traffic alert, automatic reverse braking, a front-view monitor and autonomous emergency braking.

The 2020 Impreza will retain its five-star ANCAP safety rating, consistent with the entire Subaru stable.

All 2020 Imprezas are covered with a five-year/unlimited-kilometre warranty and available with capped price servicing and 12 months roadside assist.
