MINI has released a special Sterling Edition of its 2020 Countryman Cooper S, specially produced for Australian and New Zealand markets.

Limited to only 50 cars, MINI Australia receives 40 of the Countryman Sterling Edition models. Each vehicle comes with an edition badge immortalising the build number.

The Sterling Edition is priced at $62,900 drive-away, which positions it beyond the regular Countryman Cooper S – priced from $49,200 before on-road costs. (It's worth noting the hero 225kW Countryman Cooper JCW can be had from $65,900, again before on-road costs.)

The Countryman Sterling Edition rides on 19-inch alloy wheels (compared to a standard Countryman’s 18-inch kit) featuring a version of the marque's signature Union Jack design.

Full-electric seats with carbon black leather are matched to illuminated interior surfaces in piano black and a panoramic electric sunroof sits above.

Interior trims are marked with ‘MINI Yours’ logos, and a Sterling badge located on the passenger-side dash distinguishes the models as special edition.

As with regular Countryman models, the Sterling also gets navigation, real-time traffic information, MINI Connect services and Apple CarPlay on its standard 8.8-inch main display.

All Sterling Edition models will come in a White Silver metallic paint, with the roof and side mirror housings in jet back.

The Sterling Edition will utilise the same power plant as the standard Countryman Cooper S, outputting 141kW and 280Nm from its 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged engine.
