Polestar Precept teased before unveiling next week, 2020 Geneva motor show after
Volve's electric brand has revealed small details of its third model.
Volvo’s performance electric and hybrid brand Polestar has teased its new Precept model, before a dedicated unveiling event and 2020 Geneva motor show showing.
The single image released by Polestar shows only the top-down outline of headlights and taillights on an otherwise obscured Precept.
There is not a lot insofar as detail in the teaser, however there is room for speculation.
Polestar’s parent company Volvo is slated to release its first electric model, the XC40 Recharge in 2021.
Given that the two brands share architecture, it’s possible we might see a tweaked version of the XC40 Recharge’s underpinnings powering the Precept.
Polestar has also previously worked on a tuned-up a version of Volvo's XC60 T8.
While it’s unclear what the performance specifics of the Precept might be, the XC40 Recharge has a claimed output of 300kW and 660Nm, taking it from 0-100km/h in a claimed 4.9 seconds.
The model also features a 78kWh battery lithium-ion battery pack that should see a range of approximately 400km, with a recharged to 80 per cent in 40 minutes.
The Precept will be the third model from Polestar after its aptly-named Polestar 1 and Polestar 2.
An Australian release seems unlikely given that neither of Polestar’s previous models have been made their way here.
