2020 Alpina B3 pricing and specs

The new Alpina B3 sedan and wagon will arrive in Australia later this year, with prices to start at $142,900 before on-road costs.

Alpina Australia has locked in pricing for its comfort-focused BMW M3 alternative, the B3, ahead of its arrival later this year.

Although it's a high-performance 3 Series with power from an inline-six, the B3 isn't an M3 in drag. For one, it's offered with a choice of sedan and wagon bodies – something BMW M simply refuses to do.

It also has a more comfort-oriented suspension than the racier, track-ready M3. Eibach springs and three-stage variable dampers are standard, allowing drivers to toggle through modes ranging from Comfort Plus to Sport Plus.

Power comes from a 3.0-litre turbocharged inline-six making 340kW and 700Nm, put to all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission.

The 100km/h sprint is dispatched in just 3.8 seconds, claimed fuel use is 11.1L/100km on the combined cycle.

Standard equipment is generous. A steering wheel trimmed in lush Lavalina leather with bespoke blue/green Alpina stitching, the Alpina crest embossed on seat backs, heated seats, a 16-speaker harman/kardon audio system, and tweaked version of the BMW OS7.0 infotainment system are all included range-wide.

Owners with expensive tastes can also dive deep into the customisation options with a range of bespoke leather packages, paints and interior trim finishes as well.

Pricing for the sedan kicks off at $142,900 before on-road costs, while the wagon is $145,900 before on-roads.
