2021 Hyundai i30 facelift teased

The hatch gains a more forceful face as part of its mid-life makeover.

The facelifted Hyundai i30 has been teased ahead of its debut at the 2020 Geneva motor show in March.

The teaser sketches clearly show the i30 will gain a revised set of headlights with V-shaped daytime running lights, and a more assertive design.

These flank a wider and more forceful interpretation of the company's cascading grille design, and brings the i30's front end look into line with both the latest i10 city hatch and the Sonata sedan.

The two teaser images released overnight by Hyundai are of the updated i30 in N Line trim. As such, we can expect regular versions of the i30 to feature less aggressive styling for the side vents and, probably, the deletion of the front spoiler.

Hyundai says the updated i30 will also feature a revised rear bumper, redesigned tail-lights, and new designs for the 16-, 17- and 18-inch alloy wheel options.

On the inside the i30 facelift will be available with a fully digital instrumentation display, as well as a larger 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system.

Some of these are visible in the last batch of spy photos taken last month during cold weather testing in Sweden.

The Hyundai i30 facelift will be given its full debut at the Geneva motor show, the media days for which kick off on March 2, European time. Expect to see more teasers for the updated i30 before then.

We believe the revised i30 will enter Australian showrooms towards the end of 2020.
