2020 BMW 2 Series Gran Coupe pricing and specs
BMW's style-focused rival to the Mercedes-Benz CLA will launch with a two-tiered line-up.
BMW has announced pricing for its first-ever 2 Series Gran Coupe, a style-focused four-door rival to the Mercedes-Benz CLA.
The range will kick off with the 218i, priced from $47,990 before on-road costs. Power comes from a three-cylinder making 103kW and 220Nm, hooked up to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission.
That makes it a whopping $11,600 cheaper than the base Mercedes-Benz CLA, although the CLA 200 does offer 17kW and 30Nm more from its four-cylinder engine.
Standard equipment includes the 'M Sport Package', with an M steering wheel and sports seats, and niceties such as a head-up display and wireless smartphone charging.
As with the 1 Series, a fully-digital instrument binnacle sits alongside the car's 10.25-inch infotainment display as standard, and packs wireless Apple CarPlay connectivity.
Also standard is the 'Driving Assistant' package with parking sensors, a rear view camera, and automatic parking assistant.
Moving to the M235i xDrive ups the price to $69,990 before on-road costs, and ups outputs to 225kW and 450Nm.
With the increase in power comes all-wheel drive, along with M Sport brakes and steering, keyless entry, M Sport seats, leather trim, and a harman/kardon surround sound system with 16 speakers.
