2021 Suzuki Ignis facelift unveiled in Japan

The facelifted Suzuki Ignis has been launched in Japan.

Up front the big change for the Ignis is the upper grille treatment, which now features two U-shaped ports on either of the Suzuki badge.

The range-topping domestic market MF grade also has a new set of bumpers with smaller fog light pods, a bash plate-style silver plastic section, and subtle black wheel arch protectors.

All variants are equipped with a new rear bumper, which deletes the current model's full-width strip of black plastic. The fog light/reflector strip now lives in a scalloped section at the corners, and there's a more rugged-looking centre section.

Under the bonnet, the 67kW/118Nm 1.2-litre four-cylinder petrol engine has been paired with mild hybrid system, a continuously variable transmission, and the choice of front- or all-wheel drive.

In Japan the updated Ignis is available with autonomous emergency braking, a surround view camera system, lane departure warning, and false start suppression.

Other features include a contrasting black roof, 16-inch alloy wheels, keyless entry, push-button start, climate control air conditioning, and electric folding wing mirrors.

When will the updated Ignis come to Australia?
