2021 Kia Sorento caught in Melbourne
Crucial new large family SUV spied in busy Melbourne traffic, but it's put the disguise back on.
The incoming new 2021 Kia Sorento family SUV has been snapped in Melbourne this week, parked up on the back of a truck for transport.
The 2021 Sorento was spied in camouflage nearly identical to the garb it wore when we first spied it back in June 2019 (shown below), revealing little except its overall proportions and big round wheel arches.
Of course, with leaked photos surfacing on social media last week, there is now very little to wonder about when it comes to the styling of Kia's new Sorento.
UPDATE: The new Sorento has now been spied in even greater detail without a shred of camouflage, caught during filming. Photos here.
As for its appearance here so far ahead of its confirmed third quarter market launch, that is anyone's guess – however, Kia and its corporate partner Hyundai both have local tuning programs that regularly see their new models brought down to Australia under disguise, leading to opportunities such as this.
Those programs don't often bring the vehicles to Melbourne, though, which could suggest Kia has another project underway for its crucial new large SUV. Private marketing work or early-look dealer events tied to the Kia-sponsored Australian Open, perhaps.
